RED BLEND

THE WINE

The core of this blend was sourced from fruit grown in and adjacent to Wahluke Slope, a region that experiences some of the hottest temperatures and driest growing seasons in Washington State. For Grenache, these conditions encourage concentrated red berry flavors and fragrant spice notes. The warm temperatures, persistent wind, and sandy soils in our estate Beverly Vineyard produce thick-skinned Mourvèdre, leading to a deeply colored, structured wine with subtle gamey characteristics. Syrah is sourced from The Cliffs, our estate vineyard overlooking the Columbia River in Horse Heaven Hills. The temperature-moderating effect of the river creates a cool climate Syrah profile of black cherry, leather, and pepper. These three varieties, grown across different vineyards, come together to create a classic and compelling GSM wine.

Our DarkRock Red Blend was fermented and aged in concrete tanks to create a core of pure, fresh fruit. A portion was whole-cluster fermented to enhance the wine’s structure and aromatics. The blend was then transferred to French oak barrels for an additional eight months of aging to layer in vanilla and baking spice characteristics.
